i've been highlighting my hair for about 8 years, and i'm definitely due for a change. while my blonde locks are great for the spring and summer, they tend to make me look younger than i am. so... just in time for fall, i've decided to go with the ombre hair trend. ombre is a fancy french term for a graduation of color or "massive roots" and is a budget-friendly way to change your look. i'm hoping the darker hue at my roots will add depth to my locks and help me look more sophisticated.

i usually like to keep it simple with my makeup and beauty products. here are some of my all-time favorite finds:

NARS Orgasm blush. the. perfect. blush. done and done.

my friend jenna told me about MAC's Shroom eye shadow about 5 years ago, and i've been hooked ever since. it is the perfect highlighter for the brow bone, cheek bone, and inner eye.

i am unfortunately the product of a bleach blonde and an almost-black brunette. this has made it necessary for me to shade in my eyebrows since 6th grade, which, let me tell you, was not always pretty. that is, until i found the stila eyebrow kit. it comes in "fair", "medium", and "dark" and is the perfect texture for blending.

i've been a fan of Smith's Rosebud Salve ever since i picked up a tin can of it at Anthropologie at least 5 years ago. it is the perfect everyday lip balm. not too sticky, not too greasy, and a lovely shade of well... rose. oh, and it now comes in a tube, so no more sticky fingers.

i first bought Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche (the green one) at Barney's in Vegas. i wanted a scent that could easily transition from day to night, and let's just say i hit the jackpot. it is fresh and sweet enough for the day, but is also sexy and rich enough for the evening. i've gotten endless compliments on it, especially from the male species...

i recently found this Purity one-step facial cleanser by Philosophy at Sephora. it gently cleanses, tones, and removes all face and eye makeup, while lightly hydrating the skin. i'm sold.

like most of us, i've always loved me a pair of classic Ray-Ban aviators. they are an eternally and universally fashionable shade that instantly brings out that cool factor. just check out jennifer aniston, megan fox, and ashley tisdale. oh yeah, and they look great on everyone (seriously!). i managed to pick up a pair at SAKS while in NYC this past weekend. although the $140 price tag made me feel a little guilty, i know they're a timeless accessory that i will keep forever.

if my jeans could talk, would i be embarrassed?

so i got done with work early yesterday (thank god!) and went to the mall. since i was by myself and had a good amount of time, i hit up forever 21. since there is always so much stuff in the store, i like to have at least half an hour to sift through it all. i found a lot of pieces that i liked but i decided upon this ruched denim skirt for $19.80. it'll be great with my nine west gladiators and a wife-beater.

since i was clearly in a denim mood, i picked up a cute jean dress by dkny at macy's for $50. i can't find a picture of it, but it's definitely prairie-chic.
